Edited by Michelle Ho
Cafe hopping, by definition on Wiktionary is “Patronising a number of different cafes on a single outing”. Cafes are trendy and fashionable, the majority of cafés today have attractive, lively ambiances that excite and captivate young people. Because of this, cafe hopping has been a popular social pastime for most people all over the world, especially for people in Hong Kong and Korea.
Although cafe hopping may sound unnecessary, changing your surrounding scenery when studying has been proven to help with keeping thoughts sharp and makes you more focused on the task at hand, making you more productive. After sitting for long periods of time, walking to other cafes allows your body to stretch and get some fresh air. With that being said, here are some of the best cafes to visit in Hong Kong:
NOC Coffee Co.’s (specifically the one located in Yoho mall)
There’s a total of 8 NOC cafes in Hong Kong.
The cafe's interior was styled after a Japanese zen garden and includes natural elements like miniaturized landscapes and plants. NOC offers a wide selection of hearty brunch selections, fresh pastries, and coffees to sip while indulging in the calm surroundings.
Vol. 1 Cafe
Vol.1 serves creative refreshments instead of coffee, which is unlike other cafés. Additionally, you have the choice to dine indoors or on the terrace of Vol.1 Cafe as you gaze out over Causeway Bay's streets after a tiring day of shopping.
Brew Bro’s Coffee
Residents of Sheung Wan may have Melbourne-style coffee at this small shop. You can order anything from a cappuccino to their signature 21-hour cold brew, made with coffee beans delivered directly from Melbourne's Market Lane Coffee, as well as a great selection of teas like prana chai and matcha with soy milk. If you're pressed for time, grab a fresh pastry to go or have a leisurely breakfast.
