Disney, one of the most influential and dominant film companies, is soon celebrating its 100th anniversary! Disney was founded on October 16th 1923, by brothers Walt and Roy. The company defined the childhood years of multiple generations and contributed significantly to animation development. Disney’s global impact for the past century has been incomprehensible. The company will celebrate its 100th anniversary by releasing a film called Wish, which will be an ode to Disney’s magical history.

The animated musical feature is directed by Chris Buck, director of Frozen and Pocahontas, and Fawn Veerasunthorn, the director of Moana and Zootopia. The cast includes Oscar winner Ariana DeBose from West Side Story and world-famous actor Chris Pine. DeBose stars as Asha, a 17-year-old living in a magical kingdom called Rosas that is built on people’s wishes and is ruled by the villain – Chris Pine’s King Magnifico.

Writer and Chief Creative Officer at Disney Animation, Jennifer Lee, says, “Asha is the ultimate ordinary hero… she’s so inviting, warm and so honest about it that I feel it carries you through in a way where it doesn’t bring you down, it lifts you up.” She hopes that Asha’s story will be one that the audience can relate to.

The movie will be released on November 22nd in the United States. Are you planning on watching Disney’s 100th anniversary film?
