Windswept is an adorable, 90’s inspired pixelated platformer about a turtle and a duck on an adventure back home after being swept away by a storm. The game can be played in either single-player mode, where the player switches between the two characters, or played in local co-op mode. The duck and turtle each have distinct movement styles, each with their own move sets and combos, they can also work together to perform unique combos.

The demo was just recently released on Steam and will run a Kickstarter campaign soon. Although no release date has been confirmed, however, hopefully, this means it will release by the end of the year. Supposedly, the final game should have a “huge world spanning 5 regions with a few friends to meet along the way” with 40+ stages to complete, and “a bunch of secrets and collectibles to uncover”. In addition, there is also an “out of this world challenge for the bravest adventurers wanting to push themselves to their limit”, hinted to likely be set on the moon.

Reviews of the demo have said the controls are really good for being an unreleased game. On Steam, a user has said “The movement is good and the controls are crisp. There’s already some interesting tech you can do for movement”. It’s a game of a cute lil duck and turtle on an adventure, how could you not want to play it?
