The return of Hong Kong’s very own Music and Arts Festival — Clockenflap — Another Indication of the City’s Return to Normality.

This year’s Clockenflap attracted a huge crowd, with so many unique star-studded performers headlining the festivals, there’s sure to be something for everyone!

Clockenflap is an annual Hong Kong music festival attracting both local and international talent and attention. It incorporates many art mediums, including live music, graffiti, and film.

Clockenflap was founded in 2008 by organizers Jay Forster, Justin Sweeting, and Mike Hill when it was a one-day festival held at Cyberport, Kowloon, featuring various local underground artists. Since then, it has expanded to include world-class international acts, as well as become one of the most prominent cultural and musical events in Hong Kong, and has been credited with nurturing Hong Kong’s indie and alternative music scene, as well as bringing many international talents to a Hong Kong audience. However, the festival was postponed/on a hiatus from 2019-2022 due to the 2019 protests and for social distancing reasons during 2020-2022, marking a return from a four-year hiatus.

This year, the festival took place in Central Harborfront, lasting from the 3rd to the 5th of March, and although the exact figures for the number of people who attended have not been released yet, all tickets were sold out for the first time in the festival 15 year history.

This is yet another hopeful indication and milestone of Hong Kong’s return to normality after three years of masking and social distancing.

This year's headliners included international acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Wu-Tang Clan and, Black Country, New Road, with many more local and indie performers and artists, such as Tyson Yoshi and 南洋派對 N.Y.P.D.
